KYMIA SCULPTURES

Kymia was born in 1969. After studying Applied Arts in Lyon and Fine Arts in Annecy, she worked as a student and then as an assistant in the workshop of the sculptor H. Tonglet (Ardennes) for 12 years. Afterwards, Kymia became a jewellery founder, trained in boiler making techniques and learned to weld aluminium. Her various stays in art foundries enriched her knowledge of metal chiselling. Since 1988, Kymia has exhibited in many European galleries, but also at the Faure Museum in Aix les Bains, the Sacred Art Museum in St Nicolas de Véroce, the Aluminium Museum in St Michel de Maurienne, and the Gueules Rouges Museum in Tourves. Her masterpieces are present in the permanent collections of the Faure Museum in Aix les Bains, the Musée des Gueules Rouges in Tourves, the Musée d'Art Sacré in Saint Nicolas de Véroce and the Conservatoire d'Art et d'Histoire in Annecy.
